In response to our users' needs, we’ve introduced new features that significantly enhance document handling in FORDATA VDR: advanced OCR and the new "View as Investor" option.
New in VDR! OCR like never before
Scanned contracts, photos of invoices, documents in various formats - they’re no longer an obstacle. We’ve added a powerful OCR (Optical Character Recognition) function to FORDATA VDR that automatically converts image-based text into editable and searchable data - no extra tools required.
What can the new OCR do?
✅ Recognizes text in low-quality scans and photos
✅ Detects handwritten notes, signatures, and annotations
✅ Supports documents in various orientations
✅ Works with multiple languages - even within a single document
✅ Automatically processes documents during upload to the VDR
How does it work?
OCR is launched automatically when files are added to the VDR. The system detects scanned or image-based documents and begins processing immediately. The OCR process runs both during and after upload. Each document is labeled with a current processing status and marked “OCR processed” once complete.

✅ Quickly search for key clauses in scanned agreements
✅ Translate documents delivered as images or graphic files
✅ Search handwritten notes and signatures
✅ Anonymize data in identity documents or diplomas

A new perspective: “View as Investor”
With this new document structure preview feature, you can now see the VDR through the eyes of an investor. The “View as Investor” option allows VDR administrators to quickly and securely test the permissions assigned to specific user groups.
