03. Access rights to files - overview
In this article, you will discover the features that empower you to establish secure access permissions for navigating through the folder and document structure within the Fordata VDR.
The group editing panel empowers you to tailor document permissions. (fig. 1)
The process of granting document permissions is divided into four steps:
- Create and name a group or proceed to edit the settings of an existing group;
- Within the Document Permissions tab, define the group's access to: viewing, printing, and saving the structure and files;
- Click on the checkbox - Show available documents to preview the newly established permissions from the perspective of the group you are defining settings for. This way, you can ensure the correctness of the settings and check how the structure will be visible to this group;
- Save the changes. (gif. 1)
Remember that the most important permission is the access to view the content of the structure and documents. Permissions for printing directly from the VDR and saving to the local computer are optional.
